Mandy and Wally wanted a small ceremony at her parents' home in the outskirts of Woodinville. The house made for a perfect wedding venue with beautiful hardwood floors and a warm fireplace. A wonderful salmon loaf (and other fixings) was prepared by Trudy Wheeler of Be Blessed Events. The charming couple exchanged traditional vows after a reading of a Scripture they had selected from the Old Testament book of Ruth, "Wherever you shall go, I shall go."

Congratulations in advance, Carol and Rod!

Brianna & Shawn, Just in Time!

Congratulations to PFC Shawn Stanco and his new bride, Brianna Lechevet. The congratulations are not just because they got married, but they got married just in time!

Not shown in the picture, but on the underside of Brianna's wrist is a tattoo she got four days agowhen they applied for their marriage license. The tattoo boldly proclaimed their wedding date of 9-6-2010. Shawn is recently back from Iraq; he and Brianna have been the best of friends for over three years. However, on this national holiday, they were not able to find a judge to solemnize their marriage.

I received their phone call to Elope Seattle this afternoon, shortly after I returned home from errands in Tacoma which is very close to Fort Lewis where Shawn is stationed. We arranged to meet in Bothell for a brief ceremony after he picked up two friends near Fort Lewis as witnesses. The elopement ceremony was held precisely on the date on the tattoo; those thngs are difficult to change!

Please know that Chaplain Dale is often available on short notice to conduct meaningful elopement ceremoniest. Plus, I love our military!

God bless you both, Brianna and Shawn.

Phone Call to Wedding in 45 Minutes

Dwaun and Andrea started dating in high school in Oregon. He nows serves our country in the US Navy. On Tuesday, he will deploy to see from his base in Everett. They got their marriage license last Tuesday and called me up on Friday (the three day waiting period completed) and asked if I could conduct their elopement that morning so they could get everything filed before the end of the day (and, therefore, before he deploys on Tuesday morning after the long holiday weekend).

They made the call to me from Everett at 9:45 AM. I gave them directions to my office and contacted two witnesses. We all converged in Bothell for a ceremony that started at 10:30 AM, a mere 45 minutes after the initial phone call!

Thanks to Dwaun for his service, and to Andrea as a military spouse. Best wishes to you both!

Nikki & Loran in Beautiful East Monroe Ceremony

Blue skies, green grass and happy smiles were the order of the day as Nikki and Loran were wed in a small ceremony off Fern Bluff Road between Monroe and Sultan. A handful of guests were all smiles, too, as the couple exchanged vows in this touching wedding. I was pleased to be able to accommodate this request made less than two weeks ago. God bless you both, Nikki and Loran!

Justin & Erin Back From Honeymoon

Justin and Erin exchanged vows in a scenic Seattle location with Lake Washington as the backdrop. The small wedding, which included his parents and hers, took place in June. Erin just wrote me with this picture, now back from a wonderful Mexico honeymoon.

Ben and Susanna Marry at Gas Works Park

What more could one ask for? A sunny morning on the waterfront of Lake Union in Seattle at Gas Works Park, plus a small assembly of loving family -- and Susanna and Ben's wedding! The couple looked great with Seattle and (check their photo gallery) the Space Needle in the background. Congratulations to Susanna and Ben on their wedding this morning!
