Traci & Tim Elope on Golden Gardens Beach
Groom Tim had called me about a month before this July 25th wedding from the oil fields of Wyoming. He was on the road while his intended was at home in Spokane. Tim asked me if I knew any scenic beaches on the water near Seattle. I instantly thought of the beach at Golden Gardens Park on Puget Sound. Golden Gardens has been a popular beach spot for everything from swimming to campfires to volleyball to frisbees to weddings for many years.
Traci is a student who will be studying at Spokane Community College this fall. After we met up in the parking lot of a nearby restaurant, we then found a parking spot at the park. Walking along the beach, Traci spotted this quiet shady spot under some trees which we had all to ourselves! The brief elopement ceremony lasted less than ten minutes and was witnessed by the bride's father and sister, along with my wife Wendy (who took this photo). After the ceremony, the wedding party was out to see Seattle, including the Space Needle, the Pike Place Market and a harbor cruise.
Since there is over a month before Traci has to be back in school, she will be joining Tim on the road in his work for the coming several weeks.
